SERVICE POLICIES & LIABILITY AGREEMENT
15th Street Mobile Shop
APPOINTMENTS & SERVICE
We are a mobile mechanic service operating by appointment only.
All repairs and maintenance are performed at the customer’s home, workplace, or another approved private location with safe working conditions.
Pricing may vary depending on vehicle model, condition, and accessibility.
DIAGNOSTIC & DEPOSIT
A $50 diagnostic fee is required to book an appointment.
This covers inspection time and identifying the issue.
$25 is credited toward the repair if the service is approved.
If repairs are declined, the diagnostic fee is non-refundable.
All new customers must pay a diagnostic fee or deposit to secure their appointment.
This ensures accurate quotes, prevents incorrect parts from being ordered, and protects both your time and ours.
ADDITIONAL INSPECTION
Diagnostics include:
OBD2 scanning
A basic visual inspection
If deeper inspection or teardown is required, additional labor charges may apply.
All extra charges will be quoted before continuing.
PAYMENT & DEPOSIT POLICY
For services requiring ordered parts, a deposit is required before parts are purchased.
This guarantees correct parts are reserved.
For same-day services (oil change, brakes, battery, etc.):
Full payment is due at job completion.
Accepted payments: cash, debit, credit.
Late payments beyond 24 hours may incur a $25 daily late fee.
All services and diagnostic fees are non-refundable once work begins.
Refunds are only issued if service cannot be safely completed.
PARTS & WARRANTY
We use OEM-quality or equivalent parts based on customer preference and availability.
All new parts include a manufacturer warranty.
Labor includes a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Customer-supplied parts are not covered under any warranty and are installed at the customer’s own risk.
15th Street Mobile Shop is not responsible for:
Incorrect or incompatible customer-supplied parts
Part failure caused by non-OEM or low-quality components
TRAVEL & COVERAGE AREA
We currently service:
San Luis Obispo • Grover Beach • Oceano • Arroyo Grande • Pismo Beach
Travel fees may apply for jobs 10+ miles from Oceano (typically $10–$25 depending on distance).
SAFE WORKING LOCATION
For safety and compliance, all work must be performed on private property with a flat, stable surface (driveway, garage, or private lot).
We cannot perform work on:
Public streets (where prohibited)
Apartment fire lanes
Steep or unstable surfaces
If a safe workspace is not available, the appointment may need to be rescheduled.
WEATHER POLICY
Appointments may be rescheduled if unsafe weather (rain, winds, or extreme heat) prevents proper or safe work.
CUSTOMER COOPERATION
The customer must be present or provide access to the vehicle during service.
Delays over 15 minutes or lack of access may result in cancellation and loss of the diagnostic fee.
Customers must respond to messages or calls within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
Failure to communicate may result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
INSPECTION PHOTOS
Photos or videos may be taken before, during, and after service for:
recordkeeping
quality assurance
promotional purposes
(No personal or private information is included.)
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
We reserve the right to decline service if:
the work area is unsafe
the vehicle condition is unsafe
customer behavior is inappropriate or unreasonable
ESTIMATES
All estimates are valid for 7 days from the date issued.
Prices are subject to change based on:
supplier cost
fuel
parts availability
LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
15th Street Mobile Shop is not responsible for:
Pre-existing vehicle conditions
Unrelated part failures
Damage caused by unsafe or improper vehicle operation
Rusted, seized, or corroded hardware breaking during removal
Additional issues that appear after repairs (vehicles may have multiple hidden problems)
Customers are responsible for maintaining the overall condition of their vehicle.
NO GUARANTEE OF DIAGNOSIS
Diagnostics identify the most likely cause.
Vehicles may have multiple issues not visible during inspection.
We are not responsible for additional problems that appear after repairs.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION
Customers must provide accurate:
vehicle details
symptoms
repair history
Incorrect or incomplete information is the customer’s responsibility.
REMOVED PARTS POLICY
Old parts will be disposed of unless the customer requests them during the appointment.
Requests made afterward cannot be honored.
PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION
By booking, the customer authorizes 15th Street Mobile Shop to charge approved payment methods for:
repairs
deposits
late fees
outstanding balances
RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS
Appointments may be rescheduled 24 hours in advance at no cost.
Same-day cancellations or no-shows forfeit the diagnostic deposit.
LEGAL NOTICE
All work is performed on private property or permitted locations in accordance with local laws and safety standards.
